IDEAS!!

here are two main concepts iv got. the first is to the statement "abuse of power comes as no suprise" and will be made up as a photo collage .this piece will be politically driven. i am aiming for a John Heartfield look the secound will have the statement "even your family can betray you". i will be using those drawing aid dolls. i have done some work with them in the past and think they are fantastic to work with . they have so much emotion, they will be trying to kill the family member with matches and other things that men made of wood are scared of

nature

a cool green house i found in sydney these are all photos i took whilst on a picnic with my girlfriend

a test shoot for the slow shutter
i really like how the trees and ferns are on the left and right sides of the shot and in the middle is what is almost a natural pathway
this tree was in sydney, it looks so old and cool

Fashion

i dont know much about fashion, my girlfriend buys most of my cloths for me :P , but once again i look towards the Japaneses for ideas, some of there styles are very strange and im sure will go no further then japan. its also funny how some fashions stay there, like there traped in time like the 1950s hairdos and the 80s punk scene.

visual marks

some haunting photos i found in a book on spinal injuries and surgery, and a quick doodle i did in class

i took these photos during last mondays class. i thinks the green paint on the walls looks awsome, it reminds me of old hospitals and even Russia, dont ask :P

font

what can i say, fonts are just as important as the image in which they are applied too.
these are just a few fonts i found in my room that i liked

the curves on this Hebrew font looks nice :) , i found it in a book on religion in the school library

Design

A photo i took of the maroondah dam, it helps me feel confident in my work, sounds stupid but it does,
i saw the Guggenheim when i was in New York but unfortunetly it was under renovation. i like this building even though some call it the big toilet bowl because it stands out from a city of grey squares.
one of my favorite memories was seeing the Brooklyn bridge, its really interesting to see all the bricks making up the one big object, i took this shot because the bottom of the bridge doesn't get as much attention as the top
there are so many beautiful architecturally designed buildings in New York, its amazing to see
this is a really nice image i found in one of my New Scientist magazines, it reminds me of those crystal scopes you look through and turn

historical

having a natural interest in ww2 and German society during the war, I find John Heartfields work very important. these pieces have given me insperation for my own work in the past.

on the same political note i really like Shepard Faireys work.

Pop-culture

Japanese pop culture has always intrigued me. its so colourful and original. its a good place for me to get new ideas.

art

I found this photo in a book on culture, the eyes are amazing and the tribal wear is fasinating

this puts Mario and Luigi in a funny situation. it has a somber atmosphere. i like the shade of green that Luigi is in.

texture hunting >.<

today we sourced out as a group textures of all sorts of shapes and sizes. sprayed to painted clean to filthy we got a bit of it all. Todays venture was a good idea, i need to get out of the Uni building and see the city that pulses around it. unfortunately my camera ran lo on battery's but it wont stop me from returning to the streets another day >.<
